About Carson Grove

Carson Grove was developed in the early 1970s by the Campeau Corporation, one of Canada's largest homebuilders of the era. The neighbourhood was named for John Carson, an early settler in the region, continuing the tradition of honouring local pioneers.

In the mid-1990s, the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) developed Carson Village, expanding the neighbourhood with newer housing stock. This creates an interesting mix where about half the homes were built after 1980.

Carson Grove is primarily residential but is also notable as the location of the Communications Security Establishment (CSE), Canada's signals intelligence agency, at 1929 Ogilvie Road. The mature neighbourhood offers established community character with good access to east Ottawa amenities.

Location & Boundaries

Carson Grove is bounded by the Aviation Parkway to the west, Collège La Cité to the north, Ogilvie Road to the south, and Blair Road to the east. The neighbourhood spans the former Ottawa-Gloucester boundary.
