About Trend-Arlington

Trend-Arlington was developed by Campeau Corporation over two decades, creating four distinct sub-neighbourhoods. Trend Village was first (1964-68), followed by Sheehan Estates at the northern tip (1969-73, expanded 1986), and Estates of Arlington Woods (1984-85). This phased development creates varied housing ages across the neighbourhood.

The area was part of Nepean until amalgamation with Ottawa in 2001. On September 21, 2018, an EF-2 tornado devastated part of the neighbourhood, leading to significant restoration and rebuilding work.

Trend-Arlington is known for recreation. Bruce Pit, an old quarry now serving as a popular dog park with walking trails in wooded areas, anchors the western edge. The neighbourhood features five parks, bike paths, a shopping plaza, and the Trend-Arlington Tennis Club. Trend-Arlington Park includes football and soccer fields.

Location & Boundaries

Trend-Arlington is bounded by Greenbank Road to the east, Highway 416 and Cedarview Road to the west, West Hunt Club Road to the south, and Leslie Park neighbourhood to the north. McClellan Road (becoming Banner Road) is the main road.
