Approximately 85% of Pinecrest homes are detached single-family houses, with the remainder being semi-detached and row houses. During the 1970s, large apartment buildings were added to the neighbourhood's housing mix.
Before Ottawa's 2001 amalgamation, Pinecrest marked the western border of the old City of Ottawa. Today, the area is poised for change with the planned Pinecrest LRT station bringing transit-oriented development opportunities.
Location & Boundaries
Pinecrest stretches from Baseline Road to the Ottawa River, centred around Pinecrest Road. The neighbourhood is bounded by Richmond Road to the north, Woodroffe Avenue to the east, Baseline Road to the south, and extends west toward Queensview.
