About Bayshore

Bayshore was first developed in 1963 by the Minto Group, which has been a significant developer of both rental and non-rental communities in Ottawa. The neighbourhood expanded with additional townhouses and high-rises in the 1970s, creating the diverse housing stock that exists today.

In the early 2000s, the community changed ownership to Ferguslea Properties Inc, owned by Dan Greenberg. Since 2011, Ferguslea has managed Accora Village, maintaining the neighbourhood's rental character while upgrading facilities.

Bayshore Shopping Centre is the neighbourhood's major landmark, constructed in 1973 with two floors and significantly expanded since. The mall underwent a $270 million renovation adding stores like H&M, Victoria's Secret, and Zara, growing to over 883,250 square feet across three levels with 190+ retailers.

Location & Boundaries

Bayshore is bounded by Carling Avenue to the north, Holly Acres Drive and Lakeview to the west, Highway 417 (Queensway) to the south, and row houses off Bayshore Drive to the east. The neighbourhood was part of the City of Nepean before amalgamation in 2001.
