What is low-E glass?

Low-E glass is a type of energy-efficient window glass with an ultra-thin metallic coating that reflects heat while allowing light to pass through, significantly improving your home's insulation performance. This coating is so thin it's virtually invisible but can reduce energy loss through windows by 30-50%.

The "E" stands for "emissivity" - the ability of a surface to emit thermal energy. Low-E coatings work by reflecting infrared heat back to its source while still allowing visible light to enter your home. In winter, the coating reflects your indoor heat back inside rather than letting it escape through the glass. In summer, it reflects the sun's heat away from your home, keeping interiors cooler.
