Contractors in Carlsbad Springs

Carlsbad Springs has a fascinating history tied to the mineral springs that once made it a fashionable resort destination. Originally called Boyd's Mills after the local mill owner, then Eastman's Springs after Danny Eastman who built the first inn, the village was renamed Carlsbad Springs in 1906 as a marketing device, borrowing prestige from the aristocratic European resort.

In the early 1900s, the resort attracted Ottawa's upper classes with mineral waters, sulphur baths, guest lecturers, walking paths, horseback riding, and lawn games. The mineral water was bottled and sold throughout North America. The resort declined during the Great Depression, and the large wooden hotel was demolished in the 1980s.

The opening of an Amazon fulfillment centre in 2019 marked a new chapter for Carlsbad Springs, creating over 600 jobs and bringing significant economic activity to the area. The village maintains its rural residential character while adapting to new development.
